Hi I'm SetiShock. Some of you may know me from ComputerVitals and other forums. With the advent of Cartoon Network I've had a chance to get back in to one of my other interests, anime. Anime has better graphics and some can get really deep in to a story line. I've started a forum about anime at www.animeappeal.com.
I'm using the latest version of vBulletin software which has:
Social Groups by user. You can start you own special interest group with this.
Picture Albums by user. Members can upload their pictures and link to them in posts and threads. You can even link to the pictures in your social group.
Members can add tags to their threads making them easier to find for those of like interests.
I've put away the ladders and the paint buckets and the cleaning crew just left. I have plenty of content with more coming every day. But something's still missing and that would be you.

That's the ad. Now I need to see what others think of my forum. I had to set a 5 thread visitor viewing limit as I was getting those that come by and snatch the pics and not sign up. If you want to see some of the features a guest can't see you'll have to sign up.

I figure since I was using a beta version I was pushing it too hard. The DB was shot out and the backup was corrupted so Buzz rolled it way back. Gold hit and I upgraded to that. No problems since. But I lost over 400 pics that had been uploaded to the site already. There's almost 900 now and stable as a rock.

that is a shame to lose all that information..

almost as devastating as a HDD crash.. :-/

Um, can you guys go take another look at www.animeappeal.com ? I've been tinkering around with some different themes and would like a no holds barred opinion of how it looks.
In the lower left corner is the theme menu. Check out the themes for me, would ya?

I haven't done much uploading as of late but I have been tweaking the site itself. I've turned on the customize user profile. This also affects how the albums are displayed.
It's been fun setting mine up.
If you would like to see mine or make one of your own you have to sign up. Those that are members already can see mine or make one of thier own.

Experiment1 6 out of 10 (new banner would bring it up to a 8.5

Fireball 8.5-9 out of 10.. I actually like that 1.. banner looks good, but could be better

nowhine blue.. eh, not a huge fan of that background.. with a new BG, I think it could be awesome..

I still find myself going to the vB default just because its easier for me to read..

AA is a dud. There's been next to nothing going on for weeks now and I'm getting burned out.
It was a good run but I think it will draw to a close soon. I've had some ideas tossed at me as to a new subject to reopen about. I've been entertaining a forum for hotel/motel managers and staff to have a place to come and exchange thoughts and ideas. Also a tech area for those problems that come up that are unique to that line of business. Some of those problems you won't find any where else and can be a pain.
So the more I think about it the more I like the idea. But I'm going to need some reliable help with it. If I can't find some one to help out then I'll just close the doors and walk away.

--thats another good thing about using an open source forum software/..
you dont have to worry about being out 180 +60 a year for vB
with phpBB (or my new favorite XMB.. it only costs for server maintenance...



I would say NOT to shut down AA, with it only being a PR0, it prolly doent get too much organic
traffic.. and you have a FANTASTIC wallpaper collection.. there is still alot of potential there,,,,
I wouldnt abandon it..
