I like how smf forum as a default looks rather than the my or php bb. smf is also easier to operate as an admin, however I did my forum in phpbb because that was the first one I used, I thought smf would have been harder but it is easier!

smf is ok..

vB is better

but the Open Source concept beats vB with a Baseball Bat..

I actually preffer phpBB.. getting your hands dirty is half the fun

I use SMF and so far I like it, but it gets a little touchy when you don't run the default theme. Some mods just don't seem to work properly. Other than that it does the job. Later if I can get some steady income from the site I would like to upgrade to vb they seem to have the nicest software, but then again if your paying for it, it should be.

SMF is good, and its simple. Which is probably why I prefer phpbb, I think it gives more controll over the members and the board.

I tried a couple of forum software, but I got stuck with SMF!
I don't use the default theme, so when the mods are installed it's just to dig into the php files!

I like MyBB Better because of the ease of use and the TONS of addons. I guess they are all good in some way but MyBB, in my mind, owns them all ;)

Yes, true, SMF is very simple forum software for mostly newbies like us. :D

I like SMF better than vBulletin. SMF is simple, elegant and just very friendly.
